ALL ABOUT OUR ARTWORK

Q: Please describe your PRINTS ?

We sell contemporary, limited edition canvas art prints.  Each design is printed onto the highest quality artist grade canvas using dye-sublimation technology.

ATTENTION !! We only use dye sublimated printing with all our print products to ensure durability and quality. This means the print cannot be damaged and will never fade or crack, neither will the heavy woven canvas rip or damage in time like most other suppliers. The main difference between dye sublimation and the "inkjet" style of printing is that the dye sub is far superior in every way since the print is effectively "fused" using 300 degrees of heat applied to the fabric. The biggest complaint people have about inkjet prints is the cracking and fading which is due to the ink sitting on top of a substitute canvas. Please consider this when you buy a print online and remember - the quality of our superior "dye sub" prints won't be beaten !

Once printed, all of our canvases are stretched around a hand-made pine frame ready for hanging. The frames are approx 20mm in thickness for the smaller sizes and up around 40mm thickness for the larger sizes. The finished article is then wrapped and packaged securely in order to fully protect it during its transit to your home.

Q: Please describe your PAINTINGS ?

We have two different types of painting on offer, single panel and multi-panel, all of which are totally hand-painted. Every painting starts life as a blank canvas and is 100% created by hand using the finest paints. When you receive your painting and unwrap it the first thing you might notice is the smell of the paint (this wears off after a few days). As each painting is made from scratch, every one is totally unique and is a "one-off". You should always bear in mind that each painting is created through the artistic interpretation of our highly-skilled artists.  The colours may vary ever so slightly from the images you see on this site according to the brightness and colour setting of your computer screen, although this is unlikely to be noticeable.

The paintings are framed in the contemporary gallery style of canvas stretched around a warp-resistant wood stretcher frame and stapled on the reverse. For our single panel paintings the frame thickness is 34mm, wheareas we use a 20mm thickness frame for our multi-panel paintings. Each painting comes ready to hang straight from the box. NB If you want to frame a painting yourself with something different then contact us - we can easily send you an unframed painting as a rolled up canvas (which will be cheaper!).

When your painting is ready we wrap it in multi-layer packaging which is specially designed for art. We ensure that it arrives at its destination in the condition it left our studios.

In many cases the painting will have been very lightly sprayed with a colourless, soft satin varnish to protect it from harmful UV rays and dust and dirt as well as to bring out the beauty of the colours. This is done at the artist's discretion and depends entirely on whether the painting is sufficiently dried (it is not advisable to varnish a painting for the first few months after it has been painted in some cases) but when the paintings are varnished the colours and beauty are vastly enhanced and so we would generally recommend it and we offer it free of charge.

QUESTIONS REGARDING SHIPPING

Q: When will I get my print / painting ?

All of our orders are "special orders". We do not stock any items, so when you place an order with us it must be created from scratch. In the case of handpainted art a huge amount of manual skill is involved and this takes time.  In addition to that, there is a drying and framing time involved to create the final painting.

We regret that we cannot be held liable for delays in shipping - in the rare event of a delay in shipping we will of course assist in you in any way we can. We cannot refund postage costs on the basis of delays caused by the courier. We simply promise that we will do everything in our power to get your painting to you without delay. For US and Canadian orders please note that transit times can be between 5-7 business days, so please factor this in.

Please check out the table of delivery times by clicking on Shipping at the top of this page.

Q: Can I arrange for the parcel to arrive on a certain day ? What about a Saturday delivery ?

Sometimes - if you live in the UK we can usually aim to get your parcel to you on a specific day - since we use a "48 hour" courier service the way we do this is by sending out the parcel 2 days before you wish it to arrive. Please be aware that this is not a foolproof system and very occasionally couriers are delayed and your parcel may take longer than anticipated to arrive.  We do our best but we cannot guarantee the efficiency of the courier company, although they have proved in the past to be extremely reliable. UNFORTUNATELY, OUR COURIERS DO NOT ALLOW US TO OFFER THIS SERVICE FOR OVERSEAS BIDDERS. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE EFFICIENCY OF THIS SERVICE

Q: Can you ship to my work address or to a friend, family member etc ?

We can only do this if you buy online or send a cheque.  Whilst doing so you should state the actual delivery address and if using Paypal choose to use this address when making payment.  It is always best to ensure that that someone will be at the address you specify to receive the parcel.  Therefore, if you are out all week at work then we would advise having it sent to a friend or relative's house.  It's entirely up to you though.

Q: I realise shipping is free to the UK, but If I purchase more than one print and/or painting would there be shipping costs in that case ?

Absolutely not. Shipping is FREE in the UK no matter how many items you order. If you live elsewhere you pay just the one shipping charge at flat rate, irrespective of the number of items you order.

Q: Can I collect the painting from your studios myself ?

I'm afraid it is no longer possible for us to do this. By law we require a verified address when taking payment - this address is where the art will be sent.

Q: I live outside of the UK - will I have to pay import duty ?

The majority of our products are shipped from within the EU, so if you live within the European Union you do not need to pay import duty and you should not be charged for it. In the rare cases that we ship from outside of the EU we ensure through the paperwork that the chances of attracting duty are very minimal. For USA, Canadian and other international residents the chances of paying any import duty would be extremely remote, to say the least. In all cases, even if it becomes necessary, the duty payable would be a very low percentage of the item cost.
